WHAT'S NEW?

In 2027 we're upgrading to Great Escape Parkside!

Our last Relationship Recess was held at Great Escape Lakeside. The two properties have a similar vibe, but we feel Parkside will be better fit for us! Here's the difference:

  • Slightly newer

  • More bedrooms

  • Bigger and better yard for games

  • Spacious pool

  • Larger hot tub

  • Options for camping and RVs

For 2027 we're offering a few RV and tent camping spots! This opens up some additional lower-cost lodging options and allows more people to stay on-site!​​

Relationship Recess is a platonic and sober weekend extravaganza full of dynamic games and playshops, delicious food, and human connection all happening at a wild estate that's sure to unleash your inner child!

There's no doubt that relationships take a lot of work. What if “doing the work” wasn't the only way? What if we tried “doing the play” instead?

2:00 - 4:00 PM – Check-in and Arrival

5:00 PM – Welcome Dinner and Socializing

6:30 PM –  Opening Ceremony and Dropping In

7:15 PM - Speed Friending with Emma and Fin 

Make more new friends than you ever thought possible as we invite you into small groups with a fun question and playful prompt… Then we scramble the groups and ask a new question! Wash, rinse, repeat!

9:00-11:00 PM - Campfire Jam Session and S'mores

Bring an instrument or borrow one of ours and join us for songs around the campfire while we stuff our faces with s'mores!

Great Escape Parkside has tons of space for tents and parking for small RVs or camper vans. Tent and RV guests will have access to the Monopoly Room bathroom which has a shower, as well access to the half bathroom in the house, and there will be a portable ADA toilet outside. 

No electric, water, or sewer hookups are available.

Do I need to be in a relationship to come to Relationship Recess?
Nope! Relationship Recess is for anyone who wants to embrace the power of play! And, even when we’re not in relationships with others, we’re still in a relationship with ourselves!

Do I need to be non-monogamous to join Relationship Recess?
Nope! In fact, not even all of our hosts are non-monogamous. Relationship Recess is for people in all types of relationship dynamics, including single and solo folks.

What kinds of touch and play are allowed at Relationship Recess?
There are many different ways to play and our focus at Relationship Recess is on non-sexual touch and play. Platonic touch such as hugs and cuddling are welcome but public sexual touch and activities are not allowed.

Are drugs and alcohol allowed?
Nope. We invite you to embrace the experience and magic of authentic connection and play at Relationship Recess while remaining sober. Alcohol and mind-altering substances are not permitted and will not be provided.

Is Relationship Recess clothing optional?
Nope. We ask that you keep your clothes and swimsuits on throughout the weekend.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
Absolutely! When you buy your ticket there’s an opportunity to share any special dietary needs with us. We can work with our food vendors or find alternatives to accommodate most dietary needs. If you have specific questions, please send us an email.

What if I get overstimulated?
Head over to the “Take it Easy Tent” where you can enjoy a puzzle, chill board game, or color. You can also take a canoe out on the lake, go for a stroll in the woods next to the house, lay in a hammock, or kick back with a movie in the movie theatre!
